Kuwaitis for Jerusalem (KFJ) is a conjoint of The “Graduates Society” and the “Women Cultural Social Society.” which traces its roots back to the First Intifada in 1988. “Kuwaitis for Jerusalem” aims at supporting long term health and educational projects within Palestine and for Palestinian refugees residing in neighboring countries. Also, KFJ has been assisting the Palestinian youth living under occupation, through funding and supporting various projects within Palestine.
One of the goals of KFJ is to enhance, strengthen and revive the relationship between the Kuwaiti and Palestinian youth. Awareness of Palestinian culture has long been a priority on the organization’s agenda.
“A Day for Palestine” will be the upcoming event for KFJ, and the main purpose of the event is to raise awareness about the Palestinian culture and traditions, and its history. It will be held at the “Women Cultural Social Society” in Khaldiya, on December 10th, 2010, from 1pm to 9pm. The events during the open day will include a bazaar with an array of booths selling various items and goodies, various educational programs, as well as entertainment for the entire family. Some of these events will include folkloric dance (Dabbkeh), songs, and storytelling (Hakawatti).
We hope that this day will be a fun-filled day for all. Money raised will be donated to various educational programs benefiting Palestinian refugees residing within the occupied territories.
We hope that you will enjoy the activities planned for “A Day for Palestine”.
