Diwaniya: “K’S PATH- Working to Protect Kuwait’s Habitat” by Olivia Kimble.

The last two decades have seen significant change in Kuwait.  Several severe environmental catastrophes coupled with the military devastation from the 1991 gulf war have had a cataclysmic effect on Kuwait’s ecosystem. Kuwait lacks the effective environmental and animal welfare laws and enforcement needed to protect its natural residents.

Artist:        Ibrahim Jawad Al Attiyah

Born in Kuwait in 1977, Ibrahim Jawad Al Attiyah studied at the Institute of Fine Arts Kuwait. Since 1997 Ibrahim has participated to a number of regional exhibitions and biennales. The collection presented at Dar Al Funoon are his most recent works inspired from the ethnic hadicrafts of the Sadu with the symbols and patterns of the desert culture.

Artist:        Abdul Rahim Saleh Al Attiyah

Born in Kuwait in 1980 Abdulrahim Saleh Al Attiyah studied Art At the Institute of Fine Arts Kuwait, he works with a variety of media such as oil painting, water color, and sculpting in ceramic copper and Iron, Abdul Rahim will present four exquisite wood sucultures mostly conical forms with Arabic calligraphy.
