It takes a brave, confident or foolish person to enter a crowded place and
think they can make a success where others struggle but believe us the arrival
of Let’s Burger is going to shake some feathers and rattle some cages on the
abundant burger scene. BUT do not be confused by the name of this restaurant,
this is not just another casual diner with the focus on fast food. In fact
nothing could be further from the truth. Here you are getting a full menu
experience with the option for burgers but also the opportunity for much more
than the ubiquitous burger. Believe us:
you must try their burgers for they are up there with some of the best in Kuwait.
Let’s Burger is a confident and massive restaurant situated ideally at the
top of the third floor of 360 mall so it gets plenty of natural light too.
Bonus in a mall! You are in their exclusive surroundings and not part of a food
court, as some of you might think, if you have not ventured that high yet.
Neatly located near the movie theatre and the soon to be opened Infunity, this
place has got an excellent location to trap traffic. Yet they will find
customers making the effort to beeline for quality food in their joint. In fact
on opening the restaurant was overwhelmed with customers and this has been
maintained, particularly at the weekends with plenty of repeat customers:
always the sign of an eatery’s success.
Let’s Burger originates from Lebanon but the accent is on Americana in
every direction that you look. As you enter the restaurant there is a waiting
area which you might think is a touch cocky for a 215 seater, but believe me
since they opened their doors on the holiday of February 26 they have found the
need for this cozy area where bright colors and plasma TVs will help you pass
the time should you have to wait.
We loved the boulevard to the spacious dining area. Arched wood and views
of the kitchen just whetted the appetite and the extra large dining area
amply spaced with booths and open dining
, a bar area with very enticing snazzy leather and brightly colored seats all
feasted the eye and made us enamored immediately. Let’s burger certainly had us
at “hello”.
The menu breaks down into six handy sections and gives everyone an option
for their favorites. The starters are of the conventional variety (wings,
nachos et al) and we took off with the sampler “bits of everything” option. If
you love chicken then we are giving you a firm nod on the chicken quesadillas,
light dough and moist chicken will have you diving in. I mistook the twister
fries for onion rings for which they were a deadringer and I found it
surprising that onion rings were not on offer something that many punters have
commented on and I think before long you may well have those deep fried favs on
the menu. Mind you our waistlines and arteries are better off without them!
Don’t worry, the health conscious
amongst you can dine in safety here for there are some great salad options and
my house salad was a good with screamingly fresh iceberg and some tangy
salsa and guacamole with some slivers of smooth beef. Tuna, crab, chicken,
Caesar varietals are all there and I will certainly be rushing back for the
crab Caribbean next time for that sounds a winner.
Let’s burger is perfect for food on the run, a pre movie, post movie
snack, or full dinner option. This is anytime food for any mood or occasion. It
is the burgers, however, where you will find the core of the menu. The best
seller is the swiss cheese which my companion had whilst I had the signature
style distinctive stuffed cheeseburger. Served on massive plates, there is no
fear of food falling over the edges here! All burgers are well done unless you
want them any other way. Ours were succulent light and juicy. Suave as a
cocktail lounge lizard entertaining his friends this meat just softly
surrendered in the mouth with a fine meaty flavoring that proved almost
sensual. Rarely do you get a burger moment that has the finesse of a steak but
this had me purring. All the burgers are custom made and will take at least 12
minutes so we are not in the fast food sprint. And boy you taste the
difference. Australian beef charcoaled on the grill, and not overcooked, for in
my experience well done often means overdone. Just right was our view and the
beauty is you can nip off to the topping bar where every sauce under the sun
awaits you with whatever else you want to add from chili cheese sauce to
jalapenos.
They have all kinds of burgers not just meat. Fish, veggie, even falafel
is available! There are up to 25 varieties to choose from and the really
popular ones are the mini burgers which give you the taste and flavor of the
big boys but keep the calories down. Smart move! So plenty of visits are going
to give plenty of variety and who can moan about that!
If you want to give the burgers a swerve then pasta lovers have a page of
the menu all to themselves and the Brits are kept happy with a plate of fish
and chips!
Desserts here are a real cracker and I implore you to keep room for the
black and white fondant. My friend, who is a serious chocoholic, zoomed in on
this option whilst I had the manager’s choice of ultimate cookie. The cookie
was great but the fondant was absolutely divine and you will pay twice as much for
such a dessert in other locations and the pleasure will not be any greater than
what you have in Let’s Burger! Ructions nearly broke out as after tasting I
wanted more of the oozing chocolate from the airiest of cakes and my friend
became territorial and protective of her gem! Suffice to say peace broke out as
I generously, but grudgingly, deferred to her greed! I am having a whole one to
myself next time and so should you! The dessert comes with a scoop of haagen
dazs so it is quality all the way.
We signed off with Illy espressos and concluded that the presumptuous
Let’s Burger has reason to be proud of itself and the winning formula from
Beirut has firmly planted itself in Kuwait. It will have no trouble holding its
own and more in the crowded market place for it is a cut above its rivals in
many ways. Brave, confident and successful, we have no hesitation in crying out
the rallying call: “Let’s burger, Oh yes!” |
