THE EARLY BIRD
Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day!

The Early Bird
The Early Bird

Ask any nutritionist, the key to a healthy diet and weight loss is eating breakfast. While it’s the most important meal of the day, people tend to overlook it due to lack of time, or lack of breakfast selections. That’s where The Early Bird comes in handy. With extremely cozy atmospheres, The Early Bird first started making breakfast for the people of Kuwait in March 2008 when owner, Bianca Simonian, and her friends decided to turn their passion into a full-fledged business. Now, two years later, they have opened their second location in Jabriya. If you’re a patron to wholesome American breakfast foods, you will enjoy it and feel good about it. Their brown and yellow walls are comforting and compliment the green tables. Everything is so earth toned and fabulously natural looking.

Everything is made to order, and its freshness is mind-blowing. Seating is limited, and it’s always packed, so just make sure you call in to make sure there’s a table available or just go and try your luck. The Early Bird provides indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoors shaded from the sun to make sure everyone’s comfortable. Just like the Fahaheel location, the one in Jabriya is cozy and welcoming. The staff is what caught my attention first; with big smiles and with a sincere pleasure in serving, they were nothing less than amazing and super friendly. Their menu has an excellent selection to cater to everyone’s taste. From omelets to French toast, nothing is overlooked. They even put in a healthy selection for all those worried about their waistline, and a kiddy menu to cater to the little breakfast eaters in the family.

To those of you that wish to eat at home, they deliver, but they only do that in the early hours. As for the rest of the day, you can stop by and pick-up your order. Working hours at The Early Bird are from 5 AM till 3 PM from Monday to Saturday. And yes, Sunday is off. So whether you truly are an early bird or a late riser, don’t despair, you shall find a place there. With the excellent selection of foods, comes the brilliant selection of drinks to compliment them. If the plate you ordered wasn’t filling enough, they also have an amazing selection of sides to go with your choice. Still, it’s guaranteed that whatever you order will be both filling and amazing with every bite. Yet how is one to figure out what they should order when everything is so yummy?

Ordering the waffle and choosing blueberries for the topping was the best thing I did. The waffle was everything a waffle should be; fluffy, light, and absolutely delicious. It literally melted in my mouth with every bite. Did I mention they were as big as the plate? Well then, what more can one ask of a waffle; its aroma alone was mouth watering! My friend, being a gourmet cook himself, ordered the strawberry shortcake. As we all know, looks can be deceiving, but it was just as good as it looked. He couldn’t help but stare at his shortcakes in amazement after every bite. Consisting of buttermilk biscuits, a whipped cream center, and strawberries galore; he savored every last bit of it. The cranberry juice and freshly squeezed orange juice were the perfect companions to our meals. What topped all of it off was the freshly brewed coffee we had afterwards. Needless to say, we walked out vowing to return every chance we get.

Visit either of The Early Bird’s amazing locations from Monday-Saturday between 5am-3pm.
